One Tuesday in January, we looked at the numbers. And we thought it was over.
No dramatic scene. Just a simple reality: orders were slowing down, stock was gathering dust, and our bank account was starting to look like a Pet Stone — motionless, silent, not exactly productive.
Saving a rock sounds ridiculous. We know.
We'd spent months choosing every stone, printing every box, writing every absurd adoption certificate. We believed in it completely. But belief doesn't pay the bills.
So we did the one thing we knew how to do well: we wrote to you. Not a polished corporate statement. A real email, a bit awkward, almost too honest.
And you replied. Really replied.
Orders came back. So did the messages. "My Pet Stone made me laugh through my worst week, I couldn't let you go under." We didn't expect to read that about a rock in a box.
Today, Pet Stone still exists. Thanks to people who adopted a completely motionless object, and who, without knowing it, saved a small business very much alive.
We don't forget that. And we carry on, for you, one stone at a time.
